This is short and random, but, I felt like I should update. Here's the situation...

My grandma doesn't know that I'm pansexual. I can tell anyone else in my family how my girlfriend and I are doing, [We're doing GREAT, by the way.] but I have to cram it when my Gma enters the room. Is that strange to anyone else? I mean... she's the only one in the immediate family who doesn't KNOW. I don't WANT to jump through hoops for her anymore. I've been 'out' for five years! I don't CARE if she thinks I'm just confused. It's... Primus, it's annoying.

It's not fair for me or her. The woman is 80 years old... when I told my dad that I wanted her to know, we argued a bit, and he finally asked me something that made my mind click. My mouth, however, remained shut.

He said, 'You want her to know? Fine, tell her. But tell me this, okay? What could it possibly gain? What could telling her even possibly gain?'

With that, my brain opened, and here's what fell out:

'Sometimes, it's not about gaining anything. Sometimes, you just want the veil gone, even if what's under it looks ugly and wrong.'

...I don't think he'd understand, so, I said nothing.
